In Jazz at Berlin Philharmonic XV, two masters of the piano, Iiro Rantala and Stefano Bollani, join forces for a performance that is as joyful as it is masterful. Rantala, a Finnish virtuoso known for his humor, curiosity, and genre-crossing brilliance, and Bollani, an Italian pianist celebrated for his playful and creative spirit, share a rare musical chemistry. The two first met in 2013, and from their very first collaboration-a playful rendition of the Family Guy theme-their connection was undeniable. This recording captures the energy, humor, and spontaneity of that night. Bollani describes Rantala as a "musical twin brother," and this friendship shines through every note they play together. With Jazz at Berlin Philharmonic XV, listeners are invited into a concert experience brimming with virtuosity, fun, and the deep joy of musical connection-a true highlight of this beloved series.
