The baroque orchestra L'arpa festante shows how much wonderful music was created in the German High Baroque: in world premiere recordings the orchestra presents four cantatas by composers from Central Germany. While the Dresden court kapellmeister Heinichen and the Thomaskantor Kuhnau were well-known personalities and are gradually being rediscovered today, Christian August Jacobi and Ernst Nicolaus Thaur are completely unknown.
