His fame as a composer rests almost solely if not only on this superb work, and it's lead soprano role is here taken by one of it's greatest interpreters. A gifted coloratura singer, on her best nights (as many surviving live recordings confirm, including this one), her impact was great indeed. Remastered in 24 bit/96kHz sound.
