Good Hang, the long-awaited debut as a bandleader from New Orleans saxophonist and composer David Bode, is a vibrant celebration of jazz heritage, global influence, and personal artistry. Supported by the Threadhead Cultural Foundation, this album captures the spirit of collaboration with a powerhouse ensemble of Bode's closest musical allies-some of the most accomplished players in the New Orleans scene-recorded just blocks from the iconic Frenchmen Street.Blending rich tradition with inventive flair, Good Hang features bold reimaginings of works by John Coltrane, Astor Piazzolla, Jeff Buckley, and The Beatles, alongside original compositions that channel the grooves of The Meters, the spiritual depth of Coltrane, and the intricate counterpoint of Bach. With Grammy-winning engineers behind the console and standout solos throughout, the album is a compelling, genre-blurring statement that bridges classic jazz roots with a contemporary, deeply personal voice.
